You're on Tumblr on NYE. I'm on Tumblr on NYE....

Ask me anything.
Ditto, kiddos.
What the hell. Me, too.
The kid didn't come over, so I'm ringing in the...
Two observations:
1) You could dress like Bernie Wooster today and still be quite stylish.
2) How does one engage a valet?
December 2011
For example
Today I edited a post on my iphone for my other blog (the iPhone part’s relevant since, I obv. don’t have Missing-E installed in the Tumblr app) and the post re-published with today’s date. Why would it do that?
So, yeah, Tumblr, Missing-E is the problem, not your lack of a long-term strategy for paying for growth beyond asking for more money from investors.
Since Emily and I don't go out for New Year's Eve,...
What his mother doesn’t know is that I’m going to sing him classic labor songs as lullabies and make sure he learns to say “Don’t be a scab.”

More rules
thingamonth:
I wanted to add some more rules for my project, in service of keeping me honest.
Kits are cool, but they don’t count. This is a project to make things that have never existed before, not follow instructions. Building things is fine, but they need to expand on their designed use.
Learning skills is part of this project, but not an end in itself. Learning to weld so I can make a...
DNS issues resolved at last
I am officially GoDaddy free.
Finally home. Is it still a nap if I sleep until tomorrow?
More than halfway home
Stopped for the night in Western Indiana.
Didn’t post much this weekend, but it was wonderful to see my family again, and not for a funeral this time. It was even nice to see Reagan.
Gaining an hour is great, but it doesn’t make driving through high winds and a wintry mix any less tiring.
I miss my own bed. That was the best purchase we ever made (and all the credit is due...
Finally back in the great state, er, COMMONWEALTH of Pennsylvania.
First grilled cheese, now eggnog?
Merlin’s right, yo.
Seriously, though. I have no problem with raw eggs (cf. cookie dough), but I’ve never had nor have any desire to have eggnog.
And in my pathological negativity, I forgot one...
My boss gave me a hand-knit scarf for Christmas, which is touchingly sweet and very warm.
So maybe one of New Year’s resolutions should be to stop being such a negative asshole and actually think of some of the good things that happen.
I don't mean to hate December
A list encompassing my day

The French Phrases →
whileyouweresleeping:
“We don’t have time to fuck the flies in the ass: we can’t afford to nit-pick.”
Simon Evans decided to compile all of the French phrases I’ve been tweeting into a single blog, so that they can easily be found in case you need a quick an easy way to get your point across.
I’m having fun sharing these with you, and I hope you enjoy them too.

In which I complain too much, as always
When I went to Pittsburgh in September, I got a ticket for lapsed registration. It wasn’t actually lapsed, but whatever. The costs was to be $125, and it was going to cost more than that to fight it, so it just wasn’t worth the effort. I put the ticket aside and forgot to pay it—of course.
I sent a money order last week because I’m going to be driving through Indiana this...
The Indiana court system and DMV can go climb a wall of greased dicks.
This is a thing to hold other things
thingamonth:
I don’t usually indulge in New Year’s Resolutions because, let’s face it, I’m awesome enough as it is, and, let’s face it, my follow-through is not the best.
But in mid-December, I had a fantastic time making a thing with some other people. And it got me thinking that I should make more things. All different kinds: photos, recordings, stories, essays, videos, whatever. And that I...

Brent Simmons on Twitter’s new nomenclature. Spot-on. (via mrgan)
Spot-on, indeed. The problem with those words is something I’ve been thinking about since I heard Merlin talking about “excellence” and other nouns on Back to Work (which you should be listening to if you...
Mythbusters Mishap
ronbailey:
Adam and Jamie screwed up. Big time.
Instead the cannonball flew over the foothills surrounding Camp Parks Military Firing Reservation, before spiraling back toward Dublin like a cruise missile.
It flew straight through the front door of a home on Cassata Place, and bounced around like a pinball, flying up to the second floor before blasting through a back bedroom wall.
The...
