Snake Handlers, Faith Healers of the 1940s - Photo Gallery - LIFE 1) It’s kind of a shame that LIFE’s site is so filled with crappy icons and shitty ads, given the great stuff they can post. 2) Snake handlers remind me of “Salvation at Sand Mountain” by Daniel Covington, a journalist who lives and worships with a snake-handling, charismatic church in Southern Appalachia.
