In case you care (you don’t, it’s OK), the image I printed on my moleskine was a linoleum cut portrait of Carl Sandburg done by a student at Cornell College in 1928. It was the cover of the college’s literary journal, and inside there were two poems by Sandburg.
He loved Cornell because in 1920 it was the first college to offer him a speaking engagement on the merits of his poetry. He spoke there every year for more than a decade.
