  1. The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa

    a.k.a. RAGBRAI, is in Cedar Rapids tonight, along with the Counting Crows. Tomorrow morning, 20,000 bicyclists leave, and their route takes them through the tny town where the college I work for is located.

    Everyone is quite excited by this. Except for those of us who have to be at work by 6:30 a.m. We’re still excited, just less so.

    Maybe if I could ride a bike more than 20 feet without falling off I’d be more into it.

    2. monkeyfrog said: They used to finish in Clinton. I think I was 16 the year they literally rode by the corner I lived three houses from. We stood there in Daisy Dukes and short shirts waving and yelling as they went by! I wanted to ride it when I was 18.
